Cup And Saucer Treats:

Ingredients: Marshmallows, plain biscuits, frosting, piping bag, Life Savers,

Tools: Piping bag, spatula (blunt, knife), warm water.

Pre-preparation:

  • Cut the life savers in half to form semi circles.
  • Fill the piping bags with frosting.

Ask the Joeys to cover one side of a biscuit with white frosting. This may need to be smoothed by using a warm spatula (dip it in warm water).

Then place a marshmallow in the centre of the frosted biscuit.

Apply a little frosting to each end of a halved Life Saver and use this to stick it to the side of the marshmallow so it looks like a cup.

You can then pipe a little (only a little required for effect) chocolate frosting on top of the marshmallow.

Note: the frostings can be reversed.

Joey And Mum Questions And Answers:

Away from the Joeys ask the Mums questions about their Joey and write the answers down. Then read the question to each Joey and ask then what they think the answer was that their mum gave.

Some questions are (we will only have time for one or two):

  • What do you like most about your Joey?
  • How would you rate the state of your Joey’s bedroom?
  • What is your Mum’s best meal?
  • What is your Joey’s favourite meal?
  • What is your Mum’s favourite colour?
