The Jamboree Fundraising Group are hosting a Family Portrait Day on Sunday 27th May at the Scout Hall, with Jaspa Photography. 

For $20 you can book a 15 minute sitting for your family and receive a Colour or Black & White Portrait, limited to 1 per person or family.

Additional portrait packages start from $50. The 3 pose package plus high resolution CD Rom of all images taken on the day is $225. Details will be explained on the day.

An extra $5 will put you in the draw to win a 3 pose package valued at $180.

Bookings are essential. 

A flyer will be distributed during the next week at Section meetings. Please return your booking slip with $20 or $25 and leave in the box on the table marked Family Portraits. If paying by cheque, please make it out to "1st East Ryde Scout Group".

Feel free to invite non-Scouting friends to get their family portraits taken too.

This year we have three Scouts taking part in the amazing Hornsby Gang Show; James Savva, Sofia Stergio and Lucy Pennington.

The 2012 Gang Show runs from the 29th June to the 7th July.

When booking tickets you will be asked to enter the name of one of the cast members and the group. Please enter one of our three scouts who are involved in this years show and "1st East Ryde" as the name of the group.

This is a new resource page for Joeys. We will include all sorts of useful information as well as games, videos and other fun stuff.

Hand-made Camp Blankets

As part of the Scouts Jamboree fundraising efforts, Scout parents are making and selling camp blankets. The blankets are made in 100% wool, come in a wonderful burgundy colour and are made to measure. Being wool, they are fire retardant and warm. An excellent place to put all those badges your children are collecting during their Scouting career!

Each year we have several events which involve the whole group, some of these are fund-raising efforts such as the car boot sales and the Christmas tree drive and some are social events and camps. The main social events we hold in a year are the Family Camp, which is held over the Easter long Weekend, the Group Campfire BBQ, which is normally some time in July and the Christmas Party. We also have an annual general meeting, normally at the end of April, where the committee is chosen to help run the group for the next year and also, once again, we have a chance to get together and chat about all the fun things our children get up to.

These events give us all a chance to get together as a group and involve the whole extended family - parents, siblings, grandparents are all welcome to come and join in the fun.
