Andrew Lynch Congratulated as a Queen's Scout

Andrew Lynch has been awarded the Queen's Scout award - the highest award which can be gained by a youth member in Scouting in Australia. The Queen's Scout requires a lot of time and effort and only a few manage to achieve it. A presentation evening was held on Saturday at our hall and many of his fellow Venturers, Leaders friends and family where there to congratulate Andrew on this wonderful achievement.

The 1st East Ryde Scout Group congratulated Zac Savva on being awarded the Queen's Scout Award.

Zachary’s Queen’s Scout has been twelve years in the making. As a six year old Joey , Zac began his exploration of the outdoors, culminating in nationally recognised qualifications in canyoning, bushwalking and abseiling at the 1st National Adventurous Activities school. Zac is a founding member of the Moocooboolah District Venturer Unit and has served with enthusiasm as Unit Vice Chair and Activities Coordinator on the Unit Council. He brought out his inner clown through mastery of circus performance skills and taught those skills both to Cub packs and as a part of the activities team at Cuboree. He intends to stay an active part of the scouting movement as a member of the Brush Park Rover Crew.
